Hello. My name is Scott Striegel.

I am an Intern Architect working in Albuquerque, NM. My primary interests within architecture are sustainable and efficient structures, and equitable access to quality architecture. I believe everyone has a right to live in and interact with architecture that understands, and respects their needs.

My Values

Good design is compassionate.

Architecture can have huge impacts on its context. Good architecture is fully invested in making sure that impact is positive.

Good design is just.

Architecture is a tool of power and expression of resources. Good architecture uses that power for the betterment of the many, not to enrich the few.

Good design is focused.

Architecture is expressive. Good architecture knows what it is seeking to express and limits its moves accordingly.

Good design is low impact.

Architecture requires large amounts of resources. Good architecture is limits size, and material usage, to that which is necessary.

Good design is humble.

The best architecture is focused on removing barriers. This requires getting out of the way and facilitating the activities within.

Good design is limited.

Sometimes the best architecture is what has already been built. Sometimes the best thing to do isn’t architecture.
