Fredrick Douglass National Archive

This project was created as part of my 601 studio. I was responding to the demolishing of the historic Barry Farms neighborhood of Washington, D.C. My proposal is a counter-proposal to the planned "multi-income" development. The building is a public resource for the neighborhood acting as a library, archive, and center of learning. The program is almost entirely below grade with the first floor level acting as a semi-enclosed pavilion. This was one of two parts I designed for the site.
